David Scott
President, Chief Executive Officer

David ScottDavid Scott joined 3PAR as President and CEO in January 2001. Under his leadership, 3PAR has completed three rounds of private equity financing, raising an additional $162 million from investors including Oracle, Cisco, Sun and VERITAS. During this time, 3PAR has also defined and introduced a new category of Utility Storage designed for utility computing; grown a high profile and satisfied customer base in large and medium size enterprises, government and service providers; and expanded sales operations globally in the US, Japan, UK, Korea and Europe.

David has 22 years experience in the enterprise storage, software and server market. He was previously the General Manager of Hewlett-Packard's XP enterprise storage business in its Network Storage Solutions organization. In the 21 months from its introduction in May 1999, this business generated over $1 billion in sales, leading HP to move from sixth to third place in the external storage market, as reported by IDC.

Prior to this role, David held various marketing, business strategy, sales and systems engineering positions in Hewlett-Packard's HP9000 enterprise server, HP-UX software and enterprise storage businesses both in the US and the UK.

David holds a Bachelors Degree with Honors in Computer Science and Mathematics from Bristol University in the U.K.

Adriel Lares
Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Adriel LaresAdriel brings to his position fourteen years of experience in treasury, debt and equity transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. Since joining 3PAR in 2001, Adriel has successfully led the company's treasury and debt and equity financing activities, including highly successful equity rounds for $32M in 2004, $30M in 2006 plus the company's recent $105M IPO in November 2007.

Prior to joining 3PAR, Adriel served as the CFO of Techfuel, a storage array reseller. Adriel also worked in mergers and acquisitions while an investment banker at Morgan Stanley's technology banking division, and in treasury while at Walt Disney's Corporate Treasury Group.

Adriel received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Stanford University.

Jeff Price
Vice President of Engineering, Founder

Jeff PriceOne of 3PAR's founders, Jeff joined 3PAR from Sun® Microsystems, where he was responsible for the development and product definition of the enterprise 1000 to 6000 series of world-class server products. During his tenure, revenue for the server product line grew over ten-fold. Jeff was awarded the prestigious Sun President's award for his contributions. In addition to his Sun experience, he worked for start-ups Encore and Sequoia Systems.

Ashok Singhal
Chief Technical Officer, Founder

Ashok SinghalAshok brings over 20 years of strong technical experience to his position at 3PAR. Prior to helping found 3PAR in 1999, he was Chief Architect at Sun Microsystems, responsible for the system architecture for Sun's next-generation, extremely successful Enterprise 3000 to 6000 server family. As a Sun Distinguished Engineer, he designed and specified the system interface and cache coherence protocol for the UltraSPARC III processor. He was awarded the President's Award in 1996 for his contributions to Sun servers. Earlier, he served as a field engineer for Schlumberger Wireline Services in the People's Republic of China (oilfield services) for two years.

Ashok received a BTech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur with the Ratan Swarup Gold Medal for best all-around student, and holds an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Computer Science, also from U.C. Berkeley.

Jim Dawson
Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Jim DawsonJim brings seventeen years of senior sales experience in the storage industry that incorporates both direct and indirect sales management worldwide. Jim's background includes executive tenures at Data General and EMC, where he was a part of the start-up team for the CLARiiON business unit, growing the business to over $200 million in sales as the VP of Asia Pacific and later VP of Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Jim also led worldwide sales at Scale Eight from 2000 to 2002 and, most recently, ran strategic sales and business development at storage security start-up Neoscale Systems. In addition to the United States, Jim has lived and worked in Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, and London.

Paul Harvey
Vice President of Customer Services

Paul HarveyPaul brings more than 30 years of customer service experience to 3PAR. Prior to joining 3PAR, he was Vice President of Lucent Technologies for three years, where he managed a global support group and developed and implemented worldwide support logistics, enhanced services portfolio, and education services. Prior to that, he was Senior Director at Amdahl Corporation, leading a global support organization for ten years, where he defined and implemented Amdahl's International Support Center. He held other customer support positions at Amdahl and at Scientific Data Systems prior to that. His aggressive approach to tools-based, remote, proactive support establishes Paul as a leader in customer services delivery.

Craig Nunes
Vice President of Marketing

Craig NunesCraig has over eighteen years of accomplished marketing experience. Since arriving at 3PAR in 2000, he has led product marketing and management, developed category focus on Utility Storage, managed lead generation and grown company awareness both domestically and internationally. Under Craig's direction, 3PAR has achieved a reputation as a leader in storage for utility computing.

Prior to 3PAR, Craig worked at Hewlett Packard as Senior Director of Platform Marketing for HP's enterprise disk array business. His tenure at HP also included extensive contributions within HP's enterprise UNIX server business, including several years as the Director of Product Marketing for HP-UX Servers. Craig received Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees from Stanford University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.

Steve Crimi
Vice President of Business Development and Alliances

Craig NunesSteve has over 18 years of high-impact business development and product management experience. Since joining 3PAR in October 2002, Steve has led 3PAR's business development activities and has established alliances with industry leading companies for IT infrastructure solutions. Under Steve's leadership, these alliances have resulted in 3PAR Utility Storage being qualified with market leading solutions from companies including Oracle, Microsoft, Symantec, IBM, HP, Sun, Brocade, and Cisco.

Prior to joining 3PAR, Steve worked at Acta Technology as Vice President of Alliances. Previously, he worked at Hewlett Packard in various management roles for business development and product management within HP's UNIX server business. Steve has an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley and an MS in Mechanical Engineering, also from U.C. Berkeley. He graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Union College in Schenectady, NY.

Randy Gast
Vice President of Corporate Operations

Randy GastRandy brings over 20 years of operations experience to 3PAR. Prior to joining 3PAR, Randy was Vice President of Global Operations at Adaptec, having joined Adaptec in 2004 as part of the Snap Appliance acquisition. Prior to this, Randy served as Senior Director of Worldwide Operations & Materials for the Network Attached Storage Group at Maxtor Corporation and spent three years as the Director of Operations at ADFlex Solutions, a PCBA and FPCA manufacturer in Thailand. Randy's additional experience includes six years at IBM as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Engineer responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining high-volume, low-mix PCBA manufacturing. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University with a dual major in Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering and is a Certified Manufacturing Engineer by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (CMfgE).

Alastair Short
Vice President and General Counsel

Alastair ShortAlastair Short brings more than 20 years of experience helping companies develop legal and commercial strategies for growth through new alliances, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and organic growth. Prior to joining 3PAR, he served as Chief Legal Officer and Assistant Secretary for Netigy, a global professional services company. He also served as General Counsel for MetaTV, a global software company. Prior to that, Alastair served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary for Hitachi Data Systems. For 12 years, he was responsible for HDS' worldwide legal affairs, which included counseling 25 subsidiaries and its worldwide network of distributors. He also oversaw their Regulatory Affairs and Government Relations Department and Internal Audit function.

Alastair received his Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of Warwick in 1978 and completed various post-graduate courses in law at The London School of Economics and Guildford College of Law. He is a member of the New York State Bar and a Solicitor with the English Bar.

Jeannette Robinson
Vice President of Human Resources

Jeanette RobinsonJeannette has more than 20 years of HR experience. Prior to joining 3PAR, she was Vice President of Human Resources for five years at Corsair Communications, a provider of business solutions for the wireless industry. Prior to that, she held human resource management and recruiting positions at various startups including six years with Cisco Systems, two years at NET, and six years at KLA Instruments (now KLA/Tencor). She has a proven track record of establishing effective HR functions to meet the key objectives of hiring and retaining the best employees. She has played a key role in several IPOs and mergers/acquisitions.

Jeannette holds a B.S. in business administration and a B.S. in sociology/criminology from San Jose State University.

Kevin Fong
3PAR Board Member
Non-Executive Chairman and Compensation Committee Chairperson

Keving FongKevin Fong is a veteran Silicon Valley venture capitalist with almost two decades of experience. He has provided leadership to Mayfield since 1988, during which time he has groomed a new generation of Mayfield leadership and mentored scores of CEOs. Kevin has a broad and deep investment focus in the communications, wireless, semiconductor, software and consumer media sectors.

Kevin's notable past investments include Alantec, Crescendo Communications, Legato, Latitude, Mobile 365, Redback Networks and Tasman Networks. Kevin currently sits on the boards of 3PAR Inc. (where he serves as non-executive chairman), Cemaphore Systems, Fultec, Hammerhead Systems, Mendocino Software, ONStor and Velocity11.

As one of the most respected ethnic Chinese venture capitalists in the Silicon Valley, Kevin also leads Mayfield's China-based strategy and investments. Prior to joining Mayfield, Kevin was an operating executive at David Systems, a networking company, Hewlett Packard and Nortel/Bell Northern Research.

Kevin earned an M.B.A. and M.S. in electrical engineering from Stanford University and a B.S. in electrical engineering from U.C. Berkeley.

Mark A. Siegel
3PAR Board Member
Managing Director, Menlo Ventures

Mark SiegelPrior to joining Menlo Ventures in 1996, Mark Siegel held product management and consulting management positions at Oracle Corporation and worked in business development at Netscape Communications Corporation. At Menlo Ventures, Mark is focused on early-stage software and communications companies. His recent investments and board seats include: 3PAR, Authoria, Covalent Technologies, diCarta, Emptoris, Phiar, Questra, Sitara Networks, and Tera Systems.

Mark is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (B.S. in Physics and Electrical Engineering) and the Stanford University Graduate School of Business (M.B.A.).

James Wei
3PAR Board Member
General Partner, Co-Founder, Worldview Technology Partners

James WeiJames has been a venture capitalist for the past twelve years. He offers deep expertise in the communications and semiconductor industries and a unique insight and expertise in helping startup companies do business worldwide. James currently serves on the Board of Directors for Movaz Networks, Cogent Communications, 3PAR, Commverge Solutions, Tensilica, Force10 Networks, ONStor, Inc., XHP, and Stretch. He also works actively with Mirapoint, Catena Networks, and Sipix Imaging. He is also a founder and an investment committee member of Meritech Capital, a late stage information technology fund with $1.8 billion under management.

Before founding Worldview, James was a Fund Manager at JAFCO, where he sponsored investments and developed Asian business development strategies for U.S. technology companies. He was a board member or observer for CommQuest Technologies, MMC Networks, NeoMagic, NVIDIA, and OSI. He also co-sponsored investments in ACC, Advanced Fibre Communications, Corvis, Tellium, Cosine, Oplink, Cyras, Tivoli Systems, Silicon Spice, Ciena, and Synernetics. Prior to JAFCO, James held engineering positions at Sony and IBM.

James holds a B.S. degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada

Chris Paisley
3PAR Board Member
Audit Committee Chairperson

Chris PaisleyChris currently serves as the Dean's Executive Professor of Accounting and Finance at the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. Much of his career was spent at 3Com, where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. During his 15 years at 3Com, the company grew from $50 million a year in sales to nearly $6 billion a year in sales, ranking in the top 300 on the Fortune-500 list of companies at the time of his departure.

Chris holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of California at Los Angeles and a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He is a member of the Financial Executives Institute and a member of the Board of Directors for Electronics for Imaging, Inc. and Volterra Semiconductor Corporation.

Mark Jung
3PAR Board Member
Nominating and Governance Committee Chairperson

Mark JungMark has spent the last 17 years as a successful internet CEO and entrepreneur. Most recently, Mark was the Chief Operating Officer of Fox Interactive Media and was responsible for the day-to-day operations of all of its properties including MySpace, IGN Entertainment, FoxSports.com, Scout Media, and AmericanIdol.com. Prior to Fox Interactive Media, Mark was the co-founder and CEO of IGN Entertainment, a leading Internet media and services company for video gaming and other forms of digital entertainment. Mark led IGN's sale to NewsCorp, the parent company of Fox Interactive Media, for $650 million in October 2005. Prior to joining IGN, Mark was the co-founder and CEO of Worldtalk Corporation, an Internet security company that he took public in 1996 and that has since merged with Tumbleweed Communications.

Mark holds an MBA from Stanford Business School ('87) and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University. He is an active member of the Golden Gate Chapter of Young Presidents' Organization (YPO).

Michael Sheridan

Michael SheridanMichael Sheridan brings a unique perspective to 3PAR by drawing on his experience in several key leadership positions within successful Web 2.0, Internet entertainment, and Internet security organizations. Prior to joining the 3PAR Board of Directors, Michael served as the CFO of Facebook Inc., a Web-based social utility that helps people communicate more efficiently with their friends, families, and coworkers. Michael has also served as the CFO of IGN Entertainment, Inc., a leading Internet media and services provider focused on the video game and entertainment enthusiast markets. As an executive officer of SonicWALL, Inc., an Internet security appliance provider, Michael served in various roles including CFO, Chief Operating Officer, and Senior Vice President of Strategy. He holds a B.S. degree in Commerce from Santa Clara University.
